Architecture of Rajasthan

Being born and brought up in Jodhpur, Rajasthan still wondering and amazed by the majestic architecture of Rajasthan heritage monuments, historical forts & template. For architecture buff am sure this is heaven and he will agree when he sees wooden and rock carving on temples and forts. Best part is most of the things are well maintained till date as a heritage.

Rajasthan is land of rich traditional cuisines. Rajasthan being a dry land so most of the dishes are being invented and accommodated as per the need and amazing in taste. All dishes reflect the rich adoptable culture of Rajasthan. Also dishes are meant to be last longer and to be cooked in less water since from the old time of war and journey where dishes are meant to be last longer and should be used without heating as well. Even though food was invented more from need or necessity but the food is delicious in taste.

Interesting example of necessity invented or modified food is in Rajasthan is usage of water is minimum and substitute is milk, curd and buttermilk. Asafetida (hing in local language) replaced onion and garlic and Tomato’s alternative is mango powder (amchoor powder) to enhance taste. Color of vegetable is rich red but they are not so much spicy as they look but surely rich in flavors.

To name some popular Rajasthani dishes are “Lapsi” the traditional mouthwatering sweet dish, well known “Dal batti churma”, Sweet Kachori (Mawa Kachori in jodhpur), Ghevar from Jaipur and many more to explain.

Non vegetarian food is also much popular in local people and jungle mass is one of the interesting and unique creation from Rajput.

Also done miss “Ker Sangri” vegetable one of the authentic cusines of Rajasthani which is meant to be eaten for long time without heating.
